Volstead, CIA Student Charity Event, November 12 2022

Rumor has it the ’20s are back. Experience Volstead, a throwback to Prohibition-era speakeasies, brought to you by The Culinary Institute of America’s senior class. A swell of a time is in store as you will be captivated by our breathtaking ambiance. Enjoy specialty cocktails and hors d’oeuvre at a pre-event reception, then head inside to the dining room at Farquharson Hall, where you will feast on an extravagant seven-course meal.

We have many surprises in store for you but, in true speakeasy fashion, we can’t spill all the beans. Join in on our best-dressed contest and showcase your best 1920s glitz and glamour. This event also includes a silent auction and raffle.

This student-planned, operated, and organized charity event celebrates and highlights what the future leaders of the culinary world have learned during their time at the CIA. The evening will benefit Dutchess Outreach, a local non-profit organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity through advocacy and hunger relief programs. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Love for Lade Perry Memorial Scholarship, in honor of Omolade “Lade,” Perry, a 16-year U.S. Navy veteran and bachelor’s student at the CIA, who passed away in April 2022.
