Sweeter in the South – Southern Hospitality in the Hudson Valley

Sweeter in the South is the first of two charity events hosted by the senior class of The Culinary Institute of America this fall. The night will kick off at 6 p.m. on October 20, with a cocktail hour, passed hors d’oeuvre, and silent auction. Following the reception will be a four-course meal accompanied by live music provide by the 20-piece jazz orchestra “The Big Band Sound.” All proceeds from the evening will benefit Miles of Hope, that helps those in the Hudson Valley who are diagnosed with breast cancer, and the CIA Side Towel Scholarship that helps deserving CIA students.

This event gives the students the chance to plan and execute a charity event to bring together all aspects of their education. The students will be showcasing their talents including culinary, baking, service, beverage, finance, and marketing. Hospitality is the core of our education, and the south does it best. The evening will be filled with soul-warming food, inviting music, and paired drinks that showcase each student in our senior class.
