Night on Bourbon Street

A night on Bourbon Street, CIA Student Charity Event, March 23, 2019 at 6 p.m.
The senior class of the Food Business Management program at The Culinary Institute of America is proud to present the fun and festive Mardi Gras-themed benefit dinner, Night on Bourbon Street, on March 23rd. This event will feature mouthwatering Cajun dishes, delightful desserts, and jazz music from The Swing Vipers that will bring joy to your ears. The event will begin with a reception featuring hors d’oeuvre and New Orleans-inspired cocktails. Cocktail hour will then be followed by an all-inclusive four-course dinner with an elegant twist on classic Cajun food. Event attendees are encouraged to participate in a silent auction where proceeds will benefit the Side Towel Scholarship at The CIA and Abilities First.

This capstone event allows the students to put everything they have learned over the course of four years of their CIA education into a real life situation, providing guests with the very best experience. Not only did planning this event offer them practice, but it also gave them an opportunity to help their fellow classmates through a scholarship at the college, and to support the local community.

These CIA students are taking all of their learned knowledge and applying it to a charity event their final senior project.

  • Abilities First has a mission to provide people with disabilities and their families support to attain independence, self-determination, and integration.
  • CIA Side Towel Scholarship was established by CIA faculty member David McCue to provide students, regardless of academic standing, a resource to assist in financially tough times.

Dress Code: Semi-formal
Entertainment: Live music provided by The Swing Vipers.
Price: $95 per person, includes the reception, four-course dinner, all beverages, tax, and service. A portion is tax-deductible.

This event is presented by CIA bachelor’s degree students. These future stars in the hospitality industry are responsible for all of the evening’s planning and execution, from menu development to the overall ambiance and design of the event.
